Leaf Me Alone

The vest used the pattern by Stephanie Kimura. Each of the leaves at the edges were digitized by me, then embroidered individually and cut out. A variety of fabrics were used including some of my hand dyed silks. The thread lace was made completely on the embroidery machine using my original technique.

The thread lace fabric is created on water-soluble stabilizer (WSS), the whole vest is then completed and flung in the washer to remove the wss. (With some wine and prayers.) Approximately 10,000 yards of variegated thread was used.
